Kate started her career as an Environmental Engineer, working in the water industry focussing on water sensitive urban design, project management and people. Her work as an engineer took her to Singapore, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, giving her insight into the common and unique elements of organisations and teams that made them successful, and great to work with.
Over the past eight years, Kate has been working as an environment, health and safety professional in the public and private sectors. Kate’s understanding of the key linkages between culture, safety and performance in the workplace helped her contribute to the well-being and safety of the teams she has worked with. Her experience as a quality, safety and environment systems manager allows her to understand the organisational factors that influence team culture, and ultimately business objectives.
Kate has run numerous team building sessions, and has delivered training programs covering compliance, risk management, safety culture, and team culture development. Her motivation and measure of success are the micro-level changes that individuals can make that result in macro-level team successes, for both the team at work, and the team at home.
Kate grew up in Eastern and Western Europe, Hong Kong, country Victoria, Sydney and Melbourne. Currently, Kate, her husband and two daughters live in Melbourne, where she enjoys mountain-bike riding, all forms of outdoor activity and planning the next weekend adventure.
Kate’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering Science, Diploma in OHS, and Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
